What it does
Sixfold builds AI for commercial underwriting. Founded 2023 in New York by a team drawn from insurance and finance, the product sits at the submission layer and triages each risk against the carrier's appetite, the historical book, and win-probability signals. The value proposition is time — underwriters spend their expertise on the subset of submissions the carrier is structurally likely to win.
Public carrier deployments. AXIS Capital, Zurich Insurance Group, Generali Global Corporate & Commercial, Mosaic, and Skyward Specialty are named in production. Two deployments are unusually detailed: Zurich North America rolled Sixfold out across its entire 200-underwriter middle-market team (saving up to two hours per submission); Skyward Specialty deployed across 11 underwriting teams and reduced quote response time by 35% on average.
Funding. $30M Series B in January 2026, led by Brewer Lane, with strategic participation from Guidewire and Salesforce Ventures plus existing investors Bessemer and Salesforce Ventures. The Guidewire investment continues the pattern of the modern-rung incumbent investing in AI-native entrants at the layer above its core.
Where it sits in old → new → AI. Sixfold competes with Federato at the AI-native commercial-underwriting workstation rung, and complements Planck (which provides the underlying data) and Cytora (which focuses on risk digitisation). The category is crowded but distinct enough per vendor that carriers often buy two or three in combination rather than choose one.
