Nearmap (aerial imagery, 2007) and Cape Analytics (aerial-plus-computer-vision) built the modern rung on high-resolution flyover data. Hover moved the action to AI-native via smartphone capture, generating a 3D model from eight photos taken by the policyholder. The two approaches are complementary — aerial for the neighbourhood, smartphone for the specific structure.
